Vision

& Mission

Spectinga set out to modernize how used farming machinery is bought and sold — building a bidding-first platform designed for agricultural dealers, fleet managers, and independent farmers across the UK and EU.

MY ROLE

As the sole Product Designer, I owned the end-to-end design process:

  • UX research and pain point discovery

  • Full redesign of core user flows

  • Design system creation

  • Close collaboration with developers

  • Design support for investor materials and product walkthroughs

Challenge

Spectinga is a marketplace platform for buying and bidding on used farming equipment — a sector traditionally underserved by modern, user-friendly tech.

When I joined, the platform had early traction but was plagued by:

  • Clunky user flows for listing and bidding

  • Outdated visual design that didn’t inspire trust

  • A lack of mobile responsiveness — critical for farmers working in the field

The goal was clear: redesign the product experience to scale trust, usability, and conversion — and position the business for investment.

IMPACT

The redesigned product played a direct role in raising £1.7M seed funding

  • User engagement and listing conversion rates improved significantly (internal metrics confidential)

  • Mobile usage increased notably after the responsive relaunch

  • Stronger trust signals improved buyer confidence
